Four years ago, our family made the decision to follow Our Heavenly Father's leading to begin
a full-time Evangelistic / Family Ministry. We have considered this for
several years and earnestly prayed for His direction and provision. We
sincerely believe we are living in the last days and feel a strong spiritual
burden for families who are not ready. It is our belief that strong families
make strong churches. For families to be strong spiritually, the husband and
father must be encouraged to fulfill his God-given responsibility to be the
spiritual leader
in his home. The wife and mother must assume her God-given role as
helper and minister to her husband and children. Sons and daughters must be
trained and prepared to enter the ark of safety, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus said that the society and culture of the last days would be as it was
in the days of Noah. God warned Noah to prepare his family to get in the ark
to protect them from the coming judgment. Noah's unwavering obedience to
God's plan was a mission of faith that assured his family's protection. God has warned fathers today of
His
imminent judgment. Many Christian fathers have not taken that warning
seriously. Time is speeding by and many families are not ready for what
lies ahead. "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count
slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward not willing that any should
perish, but that all should come to repentence" (2 Peter 3:9).
There is
still time to prepare. "His mercy is great toward us and His truth endureth
to all generations." We feel led of the Lord
to assist local churches by encouraging families anyway we possibly can to
be prepared for these last days. Our vision is to be a
help and support to the Pastor by coming along side him in his work
and serving him as he prepares to minister to the families in
his church. Our goal is to strengthen churches by
strengthening families.
Our family isn't perfect nor have we arrived at some spiritual
plateau that makes
us better than anyone else. Our desire is to be a FAITH Family and we are
learning how to
be one day by day as we apply God's Word to our lives and follow His ways.
Any
family can be a FAITH Family by following this simple plan:
God's Word presents God's
Wisdom producing God's Ways preparing God's Witness.
Building God's
Word into our lives is the most important activity we can spend our time
doing today. It is an eternal investment that pays eternal dividends
especially if we build God's Word into the lives of our family. The eternal
benefits of applying God's Word to our lives also produces many earthly
blessings we can enjoy right now. God is faithful! Applying His ways to our
lives makes a difference.

February 19, 2006 was The Gilley Family's last
Sunday at Long Leaf Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC. God led Rick and
Nancy to Long Leaf 22 years ago. Five of their children were born in
Wilmington. Rick served the church as Associate Pastor and Music and
Education Director. Over the years he has worn many hats. He has been
Youth Director, Singles Director, Evangelism Director, Staff
Administrator, Financial Secretary and Treasurer. He has led several
family seminars, preached, taught Bible studies and taught a Couples
Sunday School class for 16 years. He has demonstrated a servant's spirit
and loyal devotion to his Pastor, Eugene Ridley. Rick was called to
preach 20 years ago and has been used by God in Revivals and Bible
Conferences while he served at Long Leaf.
The Gilley Family desires to be
put to work by the Lord preaching, singing and ministering to churches
wherever He leads. Their goal of strengthening churches by strengthening
families is accomplished best in Family Revivals. They will come to any church that desires a Bible
believing, Gospel witness and will share their ministry on a love offering
basis plus travel expenses. They are trusting God
to provide for their ministry with love offerings, honorariums, gifts from
individuals and monthly support from churches. If you are interested in
supporting Faith Family Ministry, please check out the
Want to Help? page for details. Take a look at the
calendar page
if you would like the Gilleys to come and share their ministry in
your church or Bible conference. Also, share your comments
and ministry requests on the contact
page.

Every family faces impossibilities in this day in which we live. We serve a God who loves to show Himself strong through impossible situations. FAITH is the answer. FAITH in Him to do the impossible. Families Achieving Impossibilities Through Him! A Faith Family is a family where the Father has won the hearts of his family and is the spiritual leader in his home; the Wife is her husband's helper and is a joyful mother of children; the Children have a desire to obey their parents; the Teenagers give their hearts to their parents rather than their friends; and last but not least, the whole family depends upon God for their provision. This is a real Faith Family! Sounds impossible doesn't it? The Bible says, "For with God nothing shall be impossible" (Luke 1:37).
We are the Gilley family and we are learning how to be a Faith Family. We haven't arrived. However, our Heavenly Father is working with us right where we are. He has proven to be patient, gracious, sensitive to our cries to Him and above all Faithful to His promises. We love Him and desire to serve Him by encouraging as many families as we can to read His Word and live their lives according to it. We have found that building God's Word into our lives is the only way to stand against the impossible situations we face. The Bible is true. It has become the final authority for our family. "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17). "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6).
