Home sweet home! That is how we began the month of September...at home! After 5 weeks on the road, it surely did feel good to pull in to 2505 College St. in Decatur, AL! We arrived home on Saturday, September 1st, and only had two days to get Rebekah ready to leave for Taiwan. We enjoyed worshiping at our home church that Sunday morning. We only have one Sunday a year to be there all together, so it is special! That evening we worshiped at First Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals, AL where our good friend, Jeff Noblit is the pastor. Jeff and Pam were on a mission trip to Africa, but it was worth being there to hear the preaching of the Word and to meet with Paul Washer, a godly preacher and missionary who is the head of Heart Cry Missionary Society. He was such a blessing and an encouragement to our children, especially our missionaries!

On Labor Day, we celebrated Rebekah's 23rd birthday in the midst of all the packing and last minute details. Then on Tuesday we headed for the Birmingham airport where we again said our sad goodbyes. Somehow it never seems to get any easier to say goodbye! We are so thankful that we can give her into God's almighty hands and trust her to His care! Please pray for Rebekah as she begins her 4th year of teaching and ministering in Kinmen, Taiwan!

On September 8th we began a Missions Conference at our home church, Fairview Baptist. What fun it was to spend a whole week getting to know the people there. It was such an encouraging time, and great fun to sleep in our own beds for a week!! On the 13th we drove all the way to Sylva, NC for one night of a camp meeting led by Old Savannah Baptist Church. It was a special treat hearing our former pastor, Eugene Ridley, preach! We then headed home for a night before we left for our next meeting. All the previous week, David had been job hunting in Decatur. The night we returned from Sylva he had a call for an interview and God provided a job translating for an employment agency!! What an answer to prayer! So we left David at home in Decatur and headed for a week of family revival at Hosanna Baptist Church in Ball, LA. The Lord truly blessed there as we ministered with Pastor Bennie Hollingsworth, and God did a work in our hearts as well as the hearts of his people!  On Saturday we drove all day to get to Myrtle, MS where we began a revival on Sunday with Pastor Greg Bray at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Bruce, MS. We stayed in the camp house there at Camp Zion which seems like our home away from home! The attendance that week was excellent, and the Lord moved in hearts and lives. Rick is so burdened about the need for prayer in homes and churches, and has been preaching a series of messages from the Lord's Prayer that have been a blessing to all of us! It is truly our testimony that God DOES answer prayer!!

On the 29th, we swung by home to have lunch with David before we headed to Erin, TN for our next meeting. It's amazing how much more fun it is to go through Decatur when we get to see David! We then began a family revival at Tennessee Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Potter. What a mighty outpouring of God's spirit we witnessed!! But that will have to wait for the next update! We are so thankful to be able to see His mighty hand day after day as He works in the lives of His people. He is a MIGHTY GOD!
