FFM Online Newsletter - January 2010
The month of January was a month of new
beginnings for the Gilley Family. We began the month at our home church where we
enjoyed a movie, observed the Lord's Supper, and then a SOME of us enjoyed a
fellowship at the ice skating rink and skated the New Year in! That weekend, it
was a sad Rebekah who had to fly back to Taiwan without seeing her little niece.
Rick and the boys left for Hilliard, Florida while Nancy and Leah stayed home to
await the birth of our little Mariana! The boys ministered at Buford Grove
Baptist Church in FL that Sunday. Meanwhile, Nancy and Leah were at the Decatur
hospital for the exciting delivery!! Mariana was born at 12:49 pm weighing 7 lb
8 oz!! We were so thankful for the technology of iPhones so that we could send
pictures as soon as Mariana was born!
Praise the Lord! What a blessing it is to have a new member in our family!!
Rick and the boys then went on to Cocoa, Florida for their annual
Jubilee with Pastor Jay Frazier. They had a great week as they sang together,
and the Lord blessed their willingness to be used! They drove home that Friday
and went right to David and Lina's to see Mariana! There seems to be a
good-natured, on-going competition to see who is her FAVORITE uncle!! The next
Sunday, we were blessed with the opportunity to sing at First Baptist Church of
Town Creek, AL. What a sweet church this is! We had not been there in 30 years
when Rick and Nancy were in revival with Evangelist Junior Hill and 270
decisions were made for Christ!
The next weekend, Rick, Nancy, Joseph, Benjamin, and Joshua left for Lenoir, NC.
Leah stayed home to help Lina with the new baby, and Jonathan stayed home to
begin a new job which will help finance his college courses. He hopes to begin
school at Blue Mountain College in MS in the fall. It is a new phase in our
lives as we travel with just 5 of us! The Lord truly blessed at the Power
Conference at New Beginning Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Buchanan. The
Spirit was so evident that week, and we praise God for His faithfulness!! We
left Lenoir for Lexington, NC and the Jubilee at Currytown Baptist Church with
Pastor Mike McDaniel. What a blessing it was to be there with the Gary Ellison
Family! The month ended with a winter storm predicted and our final meeting
cancelled. We enjoyed a weekend at home, spoiling Mariana a little bit more!
We are so thankful for the new year, and for the opportunity that God gives for new beginnings! He is so faithful, and His mercies are new very morning!!
