FFM Online Newsletter - July
God Bless America!! The Gilleys started out the month of July at Harvest Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC where we enjoyed celebrating our nation's heritage. We also celebrated Joshua's 9th birthday as we traveled home on July 3rd! The 4th of July was spent at HOME!! We relaxed, cooked out, ate birthday cake, watched the boys on the Slip 'n Slide, made smores, burned sparklers, and walked to the fireworks at nearby Point Mallard Park! The next 10 days were spent at home, painting, settling in, and finishing our unpacking!! No more boxes!! YIPPEE!! Our house now feels like home! We also enjoyed a family reunion at the river. July 10th was spent at the 1st Annual Heart of Dixie Camp Meeting at Cross Baptist Church in Falkville, AL. On July 12th, we drove to Atlanta, GA to pick up Rebekah!!! After being apart for almost a year, we got to spend 2 whole days together before we had to drive away and leave her as we headed to Denham Springs, LA and she flew to Dallas, TX. There, Rebekah was on staff with a program called VOICE, which brought Taiwanese young people to the US for exposure to the culture, language, and Biblical principles.
The Lord greatly blessed at Mt. Olive Baptist
Church in Denham Springs, LA! We sensed a true spirit of revival there, and
praise the Lord for working in hearts and changing lives!!
We then breezed through home for a day where Nancy and Leah renovated the
downstairs bathroom with some primer, paint, and a wall paper border! Then on to
Madison, GA where we enjoyed a homecoming service at the 198 year old Sandy
Creek Baptist Church! A short drive to Fort Valley, GA brought us to Victory
Baptist Church where the Lord worked mightily in that service! After enjoying
some wonderful fellowship there, we headed home and arrived at 3 AM. A few hours
of sleep prepared us to head to Camp Zion in Myrtle, MS the next day!
There are no words to explain the way God works at Camp Zion. The Spirit of God was so evident there as young and old alike were convicted of sin and brought to the Savior. On Wednesday night there was a holy hush on the service as God worked in hearts. We lost count of the number of souls saved that night, but God knows!! 40....50....more? The whole congregation remained in an attitude of prayer as the Spirit worked, and we finally left the tabernacle at 12:45 am rejoicing in God's faithfulness.
We left Camp Zion and headed for Collins Blvd Baptist Church in Covington, LA where we experienced the continued working of the Holy Spirit. What a precious spirit of revival we felt there!! On Wednesday of that week, we were privileged to travel with the pastor to Bay St. Louis, MS where the church participates in continuing hurricane relief efforts. We unloaded a huge trailer of supplies donated by the church members, and organized them in a huge "yard sale" where the neighborhood people could come and obtain clothes, furniture, and food for free. Our family sang "Where Will You Be?" and "Old Sinner" and tried to share the love of Christ with those needy people.
We are so thankful for God's amazing grace that He continually pours out on our lives, and the lives of others! We are so humbled by the privilege to be a part of His plan, and rejoice to see His working in the hearts and lives of families, and especially fathers as they seek His will for their families. Jesus is coming soon!! Are you ready?
