FFM Online Newsletter - July, 2008

July was a wonderful month, beginning with a few days at home to celebrate Joshua's 11th birthday, as well as the Fourth of July with family, and fitting in our FFM Board meeting! It was a busy week! After staying up way too late to watch the fireworks, we headed for Valdese, NC where we worshipped with Pastor Scott Moneyham at Trinity Baptist Church. We greatly enjoyed the preaching of Tom Hayes that day. He is a special friend and a man of God. On Monday morning we started the long drive to Nottingham, PA where we sang at the Eastern Pennsylvania Baptist Camp Meeting all week long. The services were such a blessing! We love Pastor Gary Moore and his sweet people. We left on Friday to make the 22 hour drive to Middleton, TN to begin a revival at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Matthews. What a blessing it was to spend the week with Bro. Tim and his precious family! They are such an encouragement to our family. The Lord worked there that week, and the church was an extra special blessing to us! We stopped by home for a night to see David, and then drove to Erin, TN to sing at the Sr. Adult banquet at Sylvia Baptist Church. We returned to Sylvia Baptist Sunday night for their evening service. Sunday morning we began a revival at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Cheshire. We love Bro. Tommy and his sweet wife, Sandra. They are great supporters of our ministry. The Lord blessed during the week, and Bro. Tommy's grand-son, Daniel, was saved! Nancy also had the privilege of speaking at a Women's Luncheon one day of the meeting. We then headed home for 3 days of cleaning and preparing for Rebekah's homecoming on July 27th!! Leah and Nancy made a long list of chores which were then divided into 3 days, the jobs were assigned, and then the lists were accomplished!! Whew! July 27th was a big day, beginning with a Homecoming service at First Baptist Church of Russellville, AL which was the first church Rick and Nancy served in 1977!! What fun it was to step back in time and to see many of our dear friends from our newly-wed days! At the very same time, Rebekah flew in to the Birmingham airport, and David drove down to pick her up, along with a precious Taiwanese friend, Sarah, who came to spend the summer with us. The three of them then drove to Russellville, arriving just in time for the delicious homecoming meal after the service. What a reunion it was!!! We are so thankful that Rebekah is able to come home each summer for a few short weeks! The next day, despite Rebekah and Sarah's terrible jet lag, we packed up and headed to Camp Zion in Myrtle, MS! The Lord blessed during the services, and the girls rested during the day and joined us for the evening services! On July 30th, Rick and Nancy celebrated their 31st Anniversary. Where have the years gone?? The last day of July was spent at home, preparing for Jonathan's high school graduation. But that is another story that will be told in our August newsletter!!

The Lord has been so faithful to us as we have traveled and ministered in His name. He is worthy of our praise!! Thank you for all your prayers and support of our ministry. The Lord uses each of you in a marvelous way to encourage us to keep going for Him!
